My Homebrew Analog Synths

Modular Analog Synthesizer:
Over the past 6 or 7 years I've been building a modular synth. Many of the modules are built from PCBs that I've purchased from various sources; others are scratch-built on pad-per-hole project boards. This section includes details, photos, sound samples and schematics.

The Toy Box:
This project was named the "Toy Box" because I built it as a Christmas present for my daughter. It's a single VCO "synth" with a moog VCF, EG, 2x LFO, VCA, low power amplifier and built-in speakers. There is no keyboard or CV I/O provided; Instead there is a trigger button to fire the VCA EG. There are details, photos and sound samples of the Toy Box in this section.
EFM SEQ-2A:
One of many half-finished projects. It's a 16 step analog sequencer with up and down modes, variable pattern length and adjustable repeat counter. Check here for the current status.
Multi-Pattern Percussion Sequencer:
This is my own design for a flexible percussion sequencer. At this point it is a completely untested design, but shown here for discussion, comments and inspiration for others. I have complete (untested) schematics, board layouts and a faceplate design.
EFM BassAce:
This is a MIDI controlled monosynth board based on the Roland TB-303. It's currently about half finished, and I hope to get back to it soon.
The Modular Drum Clone:
I have to admit that I have a special fondness for analog drum machines. I've modified many Boss DR-110s in my day, but it's always a very labor intensive process. I have decided to clone my favorite analog drum voices with all of my modifications built-in. Each voice will be a seperate panel in my modular analog drum synth. This is a new project, and I haven't gotten too far yet... but check here for an overview and my progress.
Elby Designs AVR Synth:
I haven't even started on this one yet. It's a neat little digital synth based on the AVR micro. I have some brief info and a few photos of the unpopulated boards.
Midwest Analog Products MTS-100:
Right before MAP closed down, they had a huge sale to clear-out their remaining stock. This is one of the boards that I purchased from them. I have not yet started the project, but have some photos and ramblings about it here.
Midwest Analog Products ADV-MIDI:
This is another board I got when MAP was closing; also unstarted. There are pictures and info on this page.
Sequentix P3:
There is no end to my praise for the entire concept of Sequentix. This is a UK based company owned and operated by Colin Fraser. He has created a completely unique MIDI sequencer with functions that greatly surpass EVERYTHING else I ever seen. This is a great piece for any serious "tweaker" who loves to create complex, evolving sequences. I have not yet built my own P3, but I bought the kit just in case it was only availible for a short time. Good thing, too: Colin now only sells pre-built production models that would be too expensive for my limited budget.
